William Meserole Jr. "Bill" (Age 93)

William "Bill" Harrison Meserole Jr, age 93, died of natural causes on December 23, 2022 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.

Bill was born on June 25, 1929 in the District of Columbia to parents William H. Meserole and Marion Talbot. After receiving a law degree from Washington College of Law, American University, Class of 1963, Bill was a member of the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland Bar Associations, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and US Supreme Court. First practicing criminal law and later intellectual property law. He retired as a full partner from the Denison, Meserole, Pollack and Scheiner law firm in 2000. Bill was an Air Force veteran.

A lifelong aviation enthusiast, Bill started flying at the age of 16 and never stopped. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA Chapter 4) built three aircraft (a SkyBolt biplane, an RV-4 and an RV-8), and once flew his single-engine Cessna 210 across the north Atlantic, throughout Europe, and back. In recent years he became an Ercoupe enthusiast. Bill was a member of many aviation-related organizations, including the Quiet Birdman (DC Hangar). He was a frequent attendee of the Easton MD Hangar as well.

Bill is survived by his wife Teresa (Terri) of Stevensville, MD; his daughter and son-in-law Marion and Massoud Heidary of Gaithersburg, MD; his daughter Lynn Ruleman of Gainesville, VA; his son and daughter-in-law William and Meg Meserole of Rockville, MD; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Bernadette Meserole; his daughter Sarah Meserole of North Carolina; and his brother Harrison Meserole of College Station, TX.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Fellows, Helfenbein, & Newnam Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Rd. Chester, MD 21619 at 1 p.m. with his service beginning at 2 p.m. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a future date.
