Billy and Rita welcomed Myriam and I when we first came to Ochsner in 1960. He was one of my favorite colleagues at Ochsner Clinic. I consulted him in all the pathological problems I encountered in my Kidney Transplant patients. I will miss him and now I pray for his soul. May God give him Peace and rest.

I admired Dr. Mitchell as an employer, teacher , and friend. I'm grateful to him for hiring me in the Cytology lab in 1968 and after a 19 year period of not working ,giving me the opportunity to return to my profession. Without his encouragement, I would not have ever returned to Cytology and spent another 19 years in the Ochsner Cytology Laboratory. Additionally, I considered him as a friend to all his workers. One special memory was the time he rode with me and Carmen Balbuena to be a witness for her as she became an American citizen. I spent many hours signing out with him and learning from his expertise. I give my sincere sympathy to his family. Dr. Mitchell made a valuable contribution to my life. Sincerely,Jane Eames
