William Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 1, 2025.
William "Noonie" Moore, age 60, passed away on April 11, 2025, in Phoenix, Oregon. Born on May 15, 1964, in Stockton, California, William lived a life marked by resilience, dedication, and a deep love for those around him.

In his early years, William worked on dairies and at the Hershey factory in Oakdale, California. Always seeking new experiences and challenges, he ventured to Alaska to try his hand at crabbing and briefly served in the military before a knee injury during boot camp cut that path short. Ultimately, he found his calling behind the wheel and built a proud 31-year career as a CDL truck driver. He took great pride in his work and affectionately named his last truck "The Iron Pimp," a testament to both his humor and passion for the open road. William also took time in his career to open a soul food bbq restaurant (Roscoe's BBQ Food for the Soul) with his wife. During 2013, Will battle Steven-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and his wife had to close the restaurant to care for him. Once his health improved he went back to driving truck.

William was known for more than just his strong work ethic-he was fun-loving and full of life. He cherished time spent barbecuing for friends and family and enjoyed going for rides with his wife whenever he could. His presence brought warmth and laughter to every gathering.

For 25 years, William shared an unwavering bond of unconditional love with his wife, Nikola Moore. Their partnership was one of strength and devotion. He is also remembered with love by his father William Moore Sr., sister Yolonda Lankford, son William Alexander Wallace Moore, Aleesha "Shug," and brother Danny Luttrell. Mother and father in law, Vivian Richardson and Phil Hendrix; sister in law Catina Stavroulakis and brother in law George Stavroulakis.

He now joins in rest his beloved mother Dorothy Moore; brothers Antwan Dallas Dupree Moore and Derrick Luttrell; along with many cherished cousins, grandparents, aunts, and uncles who preceded him in death.

William's legacy lives on through the memories held by those who knew him best-his family, friends, fellow drivers on the road, and all who were lucky enough to share in his journey.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

Wherever Will lived he was acquainted with the neighbors. He was known. Your Mama's prayers and others were answered when you acknowledged Jesus as your healer and savior. You have a new body. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, for those who believe." We love you Will, Mama Vi and Papa Phil

Noonie Plump(what our Nanny called you) I will always love you and will miss you tremendously. The best times growing up around you was when we would come up to the dairy and when you would slide by Nanny house in your big rig. You were always so much fun to hang with. I´m gonna miss that big gorgeous smile and your hearty laugh. I´ll always cherish the memories and that I got to talk to you one last time. I love you cousin always and forever. Rest easy Plump.

William George Moore III was a great friend and one of the most positive people I know. Every time I spoke to him he was laughing, every time I saw him he was laughing and that always made me laugh along with him. I hope his family can take solace in that he was a positive influence on everyone lucky enough to have known him. I´ll always remember that voice, that deep laugh and huge smile. Rest in peace brother
