William M. Morrissey of Upper Saint Clair, Pennsylvania, a devoted husband, loving father, and a pillar in his professional community, died on Tuesday, October 10th at the age of 87. Born on December 13, 1935, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he left an indelible impact on all who knew him. William attended American International College (A.I.C.), where he cultivated a love for learning that lasted a lifetime. In 1959, he married the love of his life Judith Elizabeth Seymour, with whom he built a strong and enduring family. He enjoyed a long and successful career at CIGNA, where his work ethic and dedication set a standard for those who followed. William was not just a colleague but also a mentor, known for his integrity and compassion.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judith; his son Michael (spouse Ann; children Jessica and Michael); his daughter Tracie (spouse Ned; children Alexander and McNally, and daughters-in law Samantha and Emily); his son Tom (spouse Susan; children Kylie and Emily); and his daughter Courtney (spouse Michael; children Colin, Will, Quinn, and Shea); and his brothers Robert and James.
William's legacy will live on not just through his family, but also through the countless lives he touched both personally and professionally. He will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him. Rest in peace, William M. Morrissey. You will always be remembered and forever loved.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Morrissey's home on Monday evening November 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m., November 21st at Resurrection Parish, St. John Capistran Church, 1610 McMillan Road, Pittsburgh, PA15241. (Please meet the family at the church). A luncheon reception at St. Clair Country Club will immediately follow the funeral mass.
The family looks forward to sharing remembrances of William at the Monday gathering and at the Tuesday reception.
