I salute the memory of Bill Murray. In 1973 I was one of the original 7 students at World College West, when he was one of the original 7 trustees. Through his confidence, my first job was at the Bank of Marin--which began a banking career which took me to Wells Fargo and the Banco de Santiago (Chile), as well as to Bill's alma mater the Stanford Business School. I learned a lot from his example as a businessman, banker, and involved community member, and enjoyed talking with him a few years ago at the Russian River. Thank you, Bill!

On behalf of my late parents, Joan and Elmer Anderson of Greenbrae, who were friends to you and your brothers' families, my family extends our wholehearted condolences to all the Murrays. Seeing that impish Gene Kelly hat made me smile, and brought back vivid memories of floating down the Russian River in the 50's at the Murray compound. Those were simple, lovely, sunny days and lazy, mellow, cricket-filled nights. Families like the Murrays instilled in us Marin kids a sense of history, a sense of fun, a sense of decency and good citizenship. There were giants in my youth -- the Dufficys, the Parnows, the Smiths (Judge Peter and Mary Lou), the Gradys, the McCarthys, the Murrays -- and they all left indelible marks, not by words but by good actions. Thanks, Bill Murray, for a life well lived.

May he rest in peace. What an inspirational man. His accomplishments are amazing. Loved his warm personality and I will always remember his smile.Despite all his accomplishments he was so personable. Another memorable thought is how much my Mom (Fritzi) loved him. So much that she transferred from Lowell to San Rafael High School.

I worked for Mr Murray in the late 70's and early 80's at the old Bank of Marin. A truly wonderful man, and quick to stop and talk with everyone and anyone. His many activities also included the Masonic Lodge in San Rafael. He was a very remarkable man.

What a wonderful man Bill Murray was. Seeing the obituary in Sunday's Chronicle yesterday and that beautiful picture recalled many happy occasions enjoying his company at the Bank, as a very good supporter of then-Assemblyman Bill
Bagley when I ran Bill's local office, as the WestAmerica founder, and the example of true Rotariansim. Lovely, lovely man - never to be forgotten.

Dear Murray Family,
Both Lillian and I are so sad to hear of Bill's passing. He has always been kind to us and a fantastic Banker to work with. Bill, always went out of his way to say Hello, be it in the bank, or out in the community. You will be in our hearts and prayers.
Sincerely,
