I have known Bill Dahut for a lifetime, actually from first grade and I'm deeply saddened to lose Nancy and him. I too was born in Brooklyn the same year as Bill also in February but nine days after him, which he never let me forget. I was with Bill when he first met Nancy at St. Francis' Saturday night dance. I remember him excitedly telling me that I would have to get home on my own because he wanted to drive this great girl home himself. When I first saw Nancy later that night I knew why. I was a member of their wedding party in 1955 as an usher (brother Bobby was best man)..I am godfather to his youngest child Julie and he and Nancy are godparents to my youngest child Peter. For about four years we lived in the same Leavitt development in Bowie , Md. until corporate promotions tore us apart. We jointly owned a summer cottage in Bethany Beach , De.

I will miss you Bill. I will miss our bi-monthly hour long telephone chats taking us back through the years without missing a beat. I will miss you too Nancy. While you are up there in heaven be sure to say hi to Trudy. She will be delighted to see you

Bill was a welcoming neighbor to Karen and I when we arrived here in 2015. He always had and interesting story tell and we noticed his loving devotion to Nancy and how he took good care of her. How he would shovel a path in the snow to the mailbox for his neighbors. He became fast friends with our 4 year old grand son. Bill would raise and lower the top on his car for Bennett and one time made a special trip to White Flint to purchase a fire truck for Bennett which he plays with daily. The fire truck will always remind Karen, Bennett and I about a man that always showed kindness to all of us.

Jesus Peace be with Bill and Nancy and to all of your family.

Nancy was a beloved PEO sister and Bill always encouraged her to participate at meetings and events.
