William R. Ostendorf

William "Bill O." Ostendorf, 66, of Sea Bright, NJ passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 25, 1959 in Jersey City, NJ to parents Veronica (nee Kalinowski) and Otto Ostendorf, Bill was a lifelong New Jersey resident. He grew up in Jersey City where he attended St. Aedan's Grammar School, Hudson Catholic High School, and Jersey City State College. In the late 1970s, Bill moved to Bayonne with his family and enjoyed being a member of the local Elco Boat Club. He relocated to Tinton Falls in 1998 before settling in Sea Bright, the place he ultimately called home.

Bill worked as the Safety Manager for Wakefern Food Corporation in Elizabeth, NJ. Prior to that, he held the same position with Grocery Haulers, Inc. for many years.

Bill enjoyed nothing more than spending his free time on the beach. As a North Jerseyan who loved the ocean, he developed a fondness for Belmar, where he spent many summers as a young adult. Never a fan of the cold, Bill counted down the days to March 1st every year, knowing it meant the nice weather was getting closer and he'd soon be sitting on a sandy beach in the warm sun. When he couldn't be on the beach, he enjoyed biking or walking along the waterfront, and was an avid reader drawn to books about history and politics.

Bill was predeacesed by his parents, Otto and Veronica. He is survived by his devoted sisters, Jane Maughan and Barbara Nealon; his brothers-in-law, John and Bill; his niece and nephew, Janine and Mark; and many beloved cousins and friends. We will all miss him more than words can say.

To honor Bill's wishes, no services will be held and cremation will be private.
