I loved the brief time I spent with Stan.

His dry witticisms and interesting and diverse conversations were a joy to hear. He knew so much about so many things.

I only met him after he became ill but he was the kindest and cleverest gentleman I've ever spent time with.

It was obvious that he was an unusual and very special person.

Condolences to Stan's family and especially to Celia. You were a special daughter, too.

My greatest inspiration to follow Medicine: a masterful clinician and fun to be around.

Such a kind boss bounding up the narrow back stairs at St. Mary's with only a candy bar for lunch. His wicked sense of humor with antennas for the feelings or pain of friends and patients. I can never forget him. Alison
