William Pelger Obituary
WILLIAM R.
89 of Munhall, on July 3, 2006. Born in Homestead, PA. He was the son of the late Daniel and Katherine M. Pelger, and an active member of the St. John Mark Lutheran Church in Homestead where he served as past Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Pelger was a 1st Lt. in the US Army Air Corp. and pilot of B-17 flying Fortress in the 94th Bomb Group stationed in Bury St. Edmunds, England. From November. 1944 through April 1945 he flew 35 combat missions in WWII. A retired leasing and insurance manager of Cochran Automotive and past president of the Homestead Lions Club. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy L. Price Pelger; beloved father of Diane L. (Dennis) Myers of Upper St. Clair, Deborah A. (Gary) Gushard of Allison Park and Attorney William R. Pelger of Munhall; cherished grandfather of Samantha (John) Young, Laura Myers and Gregory Gushard. Loving uncle of Edward Pelger, Corinne Ward, Katherine Evans, Dorothy Finn and Shirley Herchline. Friends received Thursday. 7-9 pm and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 at the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME 3511 Main St., Munhall (A Selected Golden Rule Member) 412-461-6394. Funeral will be held Saturday at 11 am from St. John Mark Lutheran Church, 10th and Ann St. Homestead with Pastor Robert A. Gago officiating.
