William Albert Pollard

Al was one of the first people I met upon arriving at the University of South Carolina. He and I became fast friends, being the same age and going to "Rat" camp. He dated my sorority sister and I dated his fraternity brother. Our friendship carried us thru USC, the Navy and our return to Columbia. He was always a wonderful friend! He is missed!!

My mother, Colene S. Hook, worked for the County Board of Education in Lexington. She thought the world of Mr. Pollard. So many times she called on him for advice and he always kindly responded. Her family will always be grateful for his graciousness.
