Dear Billy, Ronnie, DeNay and Scott, I am so sorry about your Dad. I just found out. He and your Mother were life long dear friends of my Mom and Dad. He was one of the finest men I have known. He was my friend too. I loved him.

Mr Porter (Bill) was an incredible man full of life, always quick with a joke or comeback and always the life of any event. He was so proud of his family and all of his kids which I especially saw in my friendship with Scott Porter. His friendship with my dad, Bob Jones, lasted decades and they traveled the world, watched endless basketball games and laughed through years of adventures. Bill was an amazing man and a loyal, giving friend to all. Rest in peace and sending condolences to his family. Bradford Jones

Alice and I have known Bill and Donna for a long time. Bill was one of the kindest and sencere man I have ever know. He and my wife-- Alice-- served together on the Vestavia Bd. of Education for several years in which Bill voted every time on what was best for the Vestavia kids. Also, Bill was a true AUBURN MAN and served many years in elected posititions for making Auburn a better place. RIP Bill. Alice and Ken Laurendine

Dear Billy, Ronnie, DeNay and Scott:
My heart is broken at the news of your Dad´s passing. He was a truly great man who was a tremendous encouragement to me, always willing to help. It was a great honor to serve with him on an advisory board at Auburn. In our college days, no one created a more welcoming home than he and your Mom. And if anyone embodied the true meaning of the Auburn Creed, it was Bill Porter. My life is better because I know the Porter family abd its wonderful patriarch. May God hold you in His heart during this difficult time.
