Bill,
I enjoyed our many conversations in your apartment before you went into the hospital.
One week you were talking as wonderful as always, the next week I found out you were in a coma.
More importantly, 15 years ago you rescued me when things were less than ideal in my life. I will honor and never forget how you went out of your way for me when others did not.
The least I could do was help you during the last few months.
While I have my own issues with my mother, spending time with you was a treat.
I recently moved back to Boston from Minneapolis and when I saw you and Charlie bring in coffee and doughnuts to the Emmanuel Church on Newbury Street, I was overjoyed.
I wish I could have done more.
I didn’t realize your health was declining so rapidly.
