William S. Burns

BURNS, William S. "Bill", of Woburn, formerly of Somerville, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of 50 years to Joanne (Botelho). Loving father of Lauren Gore and her husband Billy of Arlington. Cherished 'Papa' of Liam and Ava Gore. Devoted brother of Janet Slattery and her late husband James Slattery, Sr., Bill's best friend. He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters Robert Burns, Jean Sutherby, Richard Burns, Nancy Bean, Pat McFaun, Paul Burns, Virginia Fitzgerald, and Joan Burns. Dear brother in law of Emily Crowley, Connie Kvicala, Tina Costa, and Irene Ponte. Bill is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He loved spending time with his family, but most of all, Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren. He worked for the Central Railroad before being drafted in to US Army during Vietnam War. After the war, he took a job in Sales and worked for many years as a Car Salesman. He had a passion for writing. He wrote and published WORDS OF 2021 A WALK THROUGH THE YEAR, and he had recently started work on another book but was unable to finish. Visiting hours will be held in St. Agnes Church, 51 Medford St. Arlington from 10:30am-11:30am. His Funeral Mass will immediately follow in the church at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be Private.
