William Sheldon

William J. Sheldon March 5, 2023 William John Sheldon, 80, of Elbridge, passed away March 5, 2023. Known by family and close friends as Bill, he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a senior engineer with Coastel Cable Tools. Bill was tied deeply to his Christian faith and was a dedicated member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church where he was on the Board of Trustees. He also was a member of the Gideons. Bill was a very compassionate person liked by all and most people will remember him by his smile and always telling a joke to put a smile on others faces. Bill held many titles in his life, but his favorite role was being a father and grandfather. He was known by his kids as the great storyteller and family historian who was proud to share his heritage so it could be passed on to other generations. To his family he will be missed for his love, support, guidance and encouragement that he provided. The world has lost an incredible man but heaven has gained an angel. Surviving are his wife of 58 years Lana, son Michael (Anne Marie) of Weedsport, daughter Jennifer Sheldon of Lehigh acres, FL, two brothers Daniel and David, several nieces and nephews, and three grandchildren, Kirstin Karpinski, Scott Sheldon and Matthew Sheldon. A Celebration of Life will be in June at a date to be announced.
