William Sher
On Wednesday, September 26, 2018 of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Sher; cherished father of Valerie Sher and the late Tod David, Hunter Neal and Mark Stephen Sher. He was a generous and caring man who touched the lives of many. William received his B.A. from American University and his M.A. in Urban Planning, he served in the United States Navy in the Korean War. William then went on to serve in the Montgomery County Council from 1970 to 1978, was an aide to the Governor, and Director of Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs authorizing the Landmark moderately priced dwelling units. In his personal life he was a builder, a violin maker, artist, writer, social advocate and beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Mt Lebanon Cemetery, 9304 Adelphi Road, Adelphi, MD 20783. Family will be holding a reception following the service at Kol Shalom, 9110 Darnestown Rd., Rockville, MD 20850. Memorial contributions may be made to JSSA. Services entrusted to Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care.www.sagelbloomfield.com
