Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 12, 2024.
William Allen Smith, 89, of Glen Rock, NJ, passed away on March 12, 2024. He was born in St. Louis, MO, and was known for his unwavering determination, especially in his final year battling multiple health issues. William, or Bill as he was affectionately known, held his Jewish faith close to his heart.

Bill was a devoted family man who cherished his Midwestern roots, particularly his love for St. Louis sports teams, especially the Cardinals. He was a graduate of Washington University, where he earned his B.S. in 1955. His career centered around international apparel importing.

In his free time, Bill found joy in the sunshine and beach outings. He also dedicated his time to volunteering at Valley Hospital and Meals on Wheels, showing his compassion for the elderly. Bill worshiped at Temple Beth Rishon in Wyckoff, NJ.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joice, his children Lewis (Wendy), Josh (Roxanne), Molly Weinberger (Peter), and his grandchildren James, Neil, Kent, Chelsea, and Abigail.

A funeral service will be held at Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, 150 Rte 4, Paramus, NJ 07652, on Thursday, March 14, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Temple Beth Rishon, 585 Russell Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481.

My husband and I lived on Pamrapo Ct. and were friend and neighbors of Bill and Joice, sharing friendship and going out to dinner. He was a very fine gentleman. Rest in peace my friend. Grace and Michael Caraccio
