William Snellings Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 9, 2022.
William "Bill" Snellings peacefully passed away early in the morning on June 2nd, 2022, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Bill was born in Fort Lee New Jersey on April 18th, 1954. He attended Don Bosco Preparatory School and then Upsala College where he graduated with a BA in English. He later went on to receive a second BA degree in History in 1988.
He was married to Rhonda Hershey, and they had two children, Douglas and Elizabeth. The family relocated to Madison, Wisconsin in 1996. Although Bill and Rhonda eventually divorced, they remained good friends. Bill then found love and happiness sharing life for over 10 years with his loving partner, Gail Pawlak, until his passing.
Bill was an avid reader his entire life and especially loved the works of Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke. He had a natural affinity for music and guitar. One of his favorite songs to play was "Classical Gas" by Mason Williams. He loved dogs, especially his Carin Terrier, Lola, and his Yorkshire Terriers, Leia, Luke, Milo, and Jack. People who knew Bill knew him for his kindness, his boisterous laugh, his big glasses, and his East Coast accent that never quite went away despite 26 years of living in Wisconsin.
He is survived by his children, son Douglas Snellings and his wife Tahnee, daughter Elizabeth Snellings, and his life partner, Gail Pawlak. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; Theresa (Cutrupi) and Howard Snellings.
The family will be having a private service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Diabetes Association in Bill's honor.
