William J "Will" Spencer

'Will' Spencer, born to Wiliam 'Bill' and Jan Spencer began his grand adventure on June 24, 1955, in Los Alamos, NM. Raised in White Rock, NM in the early 60s, it was an ideal place for a kid with an adventurous spirit.
Surrounded by nature, with the Bandelier National Monument on one side and the Rio Grande on another, the White Rock Canyon gave Willie a rare opportunity to be an adventurous spirit. River rafting, rock climbing, skiing, and backpacking became his lifelong passions. Willie was to modest to claim he conquered anything through his adventures. He did "climb" El Capitan in Yosemite and taught many friends the art of climbing over the years. Captaining his own boat down many of the great rivers of the west and navigating the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon about a dozen times, Will always kept his cool with an easy-going demeanor. You were a lucky rafter if you had the pleasure of a trip onboard his boat!
Will graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1973, received an associates degree from UNM and went to work for Los Alamos National Laboratory. Retiring there after 30 years of working as a computer and electronics technician. Always interested in science, technology, and engineering, Will gifted us with several innovative ideas and inventions of his own making over the years.
Willliam "Will" J. Spencer left us for his next adventure on April 6, 2019. He is survived by his mother Jan, brother Roy, sister Sandy Spencer, nephew Damien Spencer, and partner Kimra Ray. Will was preceded in death by his brother Kevin Spencer and father Bill Spencer. He will be missed by too many friends to count and a celebration of his life will be held of the 22nd of June. All those concerned will be notified.
