Dr Stephens was both an inspiration and driving force behind both mine and my wife Karen´s career choice to become accountants. He was her grad student instructor at FSU and my first accounting professor at USF.
Karen couldn´t believe I would call him Bill instead of Dr Stephens. But he had become not only a mentor but a very close friend. I believe I was the president of Beta Alpha Psi the first year we won the number one ranking.

I enjoyed our meetings at the FSU tailgates, especially when I could wear my Orange and Blue supporting UF.

I regret not being in contact with Bill in the last several years, but he will always be in our hearts and a big part of our favorite memories.

Cindy, we're so sorry to learn of your dad's passing, but what joy to know he's in Heaven with Jesus. We had such good times at First Baptist Lutz with your mom and dad.

Cindy, so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was a dear friend from our Miami High School days where he kept me laughing in homeroom.
We both went to FSU and where he met his first love, Brenda.
He was always so proud of you and your following in his footsteps.
I will miss his friendship of so many years.

Sadden to learn of Bill's passing. He was a good friend of mine at FSU. I served as an officer with him (he was President, I was secretary) in FSU's Beta Alpha Psi 1967-68. After graduation, I would occassionally see him at FSU althletic functions in Tampa. How he loved his FSU sports teams! My deepest sympathies and condolencenses to you and your family.

Our family owes so much to Bill Stephens. He was a faithful friend, church member, supporter of Frontlines International, but dearest to our heart is that he invited a struggling student of his to come to our church at First Baptist of Lutz, where she met her future husband, our son. We will be forever grateful.
Bill, you fought the good fight, you finished the race, you will be missed, but we will see you again!

I was just a student and friend of Professor Stephens and wanted to let his family and friends know that he influenced and touched my life immensely. He was the reason I chose to pursue accounting- he held me accountable and raised the bar high but all the while, he had an unwavering belief that I could succeed if I put the work and time in. I am so grateful to have known him in some small way and will never forget how adept he was at teaching and bringing out the best in his students, including me.

Pro. Stephens made an impact on those around him. He was a bright light in a challenging course and wanted to see success for his students. His impact on me personally has not been forgotten. I smile even more knowing now why we were able to connect - an unknowingly shared faith! I´m so thankful for the hope we have knowing Christ and that this is not the end! Sending condolences and prayers to family and friends.

Cindy, I'm sorry for your loss. Dr Stephens (as I knew and respected) had a life changing impact on my life. Not only was he an amazing professor, my Beta Alpha Psi leader, my mentor and cheerleader, it was because of him and Dr. Keith that my relationship with Jesus was restored at the dinners and Bible studies they offered us. I hope we all leave a legacy as he has. I'm sure he heard "well done good and faithful servant" when he saw our Savor, Jesus. Thank you Dr. Stephens! Thank you Cindy for sharing your dad with us!

Cindy, I am so sorry for your loss. My dad passed away exactly a week before yours. Your dad was such a special person and made such a difference during my time at USF. From taking his principles of accounting class to later being a TA for his class and being in Beta Alpha Psi, he always a mentor to me. He will always be remembered.

Dear Cindy,
You were truly blessed with amazing parents. Your dad inspired me with how he cared for your mom. He and your mother were exceptional in many ways, but you are their greatest accomplishment! I hope you find peace and comfort in all your memories with them, but also in how much joy and pride you gave your father every day!
