No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. However, take comfort in knowing God is with you and your family lean on him in your time of need. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences.

I want to offer my heartfelt condolences to my friends Will and Genie, to all the Thorndike family, and to all who knew and loved Mr. Thorndike on his passing. Like so many people in Boston, I had known what a generous, thoughtful, admirable, and high-impact builder-up of the world Nick was, and it was a delight to learn even more from the beautifully written Boston Globe obituary about his life and legacy. Having been a summer intern at the Providence Journal and Evening Bulletin in 1984, I will always cherish being able to say I once "worked for" Nick, if briefly! I wish you all comfort as you grieve, the blessing of the sweetest of memories of your father and father-in-law and grandfather and friend, and may Nick rest in peace and rise in glory.

I send my deepest sympathy and condolences to Nick's loved ones upon learning of his death. His father, Dr. Gus, introduced me to the Thorndike Family ethos tending to Harvard footballers. Years later, I served with Nick on the board of Bradley Real Estate Trust, and in all the years since I observed Nick's human qualities of vision, decency, civility and humble leadership result in a legacy of leaving our community and every institution he served better than he found them.
It was my privilege to know your beloved, Nick, and I will pray for his Eternal peace and for your strength in all the days ahead.
