I have just now heard the sad news about Judge Troughton's passing. I have many fond memories of appearing before him as a Crown Prosecutor when I was in Alberta. He was as tough as nails as a judge but also clearly a man with a heart of gold and a wonderful and unique sense of humour. I can also remember him arriving to our circuit point courts in the fastest coolest red car!

Rest peacefully Judge Troughton.

I remember working with him side by side at Criminal Court several years ago. I'm glad I had the opportunity to work with him. He is one of the nicest gentleman I have ever met. RIP Judge Troughton. God Bless.
