Dear Carol, Austin and family, deepest condolences for your grievous loss. I always liked Billy, even when he barred me for a while from the Eagle's Nest, I deserved it! ;) You and Billy were examples of true southern hospitality and generosity when you ran the store, and in all the places I've lived I have never had better hot-dog chili than what you served. Thank you Carol, for sharing so much of Billy and yourself with us knock-a-rockers.
May God be with you and your family during this time, know you all are in my prayers.
Warmly, ~Sheila Darisse, (Bennett, Shumate, Phillips) Garland, TX

Carol and Weaver family,
I was shocked and so very saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I first met Bill and his family in 1969 while scouting for deer. I was a young twenty something and Bill was just a kid, but what a kid!!! His mouth never stopped and he seemed to know everyone. For the next twenty or so years my second home was Weaver's Grocery or "Bill and Carol's Mall". Whether deer hunting, fishing, or just plain ole loafing around the Mt Roger's area the highlight of every trip was a visit to the store to see Bill, Carol, Astor, Ilene, Linda and Mack. When Bill and Carol closed the store it was a sad day for me. My trips to the area became less and less frequent because my friend Bill"s friendly face behind the counter and loud greeting wasn't there. I haven't seen Bill in a few years but only yesterday my brother Doug and I were talking about driving up to to see him in a few days. Doug called me this morning with the sad news. Life is what it is I guess and we all have our own problems, but like so many others I have put off driving up for a visit with my friend Bill and now it is too late. I deeply regret that. Bill never met a stranger, was always outgoing, and a true friend to all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Thank you Bill for so many great memories for so many wonderful years. My heart felt sympathy goes out to you Carol and to the entire Weaver family. All of you have meant more to me than you will ever know. If I can help in any way I would consider it an honor.
