William E. Wood "Bill", Sr., 77, devoted husband and loving father, went to his heavenly home on February 3, 2018.
Bill was born in Phoenix, AZ on September 24, 1940 to John B. Wood and Mary Ellen (Webster) Wood, the fifth of sixteen children.
He is survived by his best friend and wife, Carole (Van Der Werf), his four children: Bridget (Doug Suiter), William "Bill" Jr. (Lisa), Carrie (Rico DelRosario) and Holly (Robert Coulter), six grandchildren: Garrett, Madalyn, Jonathan, Steven, Hank and Frances, three great grandsons, and ten siblings.
Bill enjoyed the simple things in life: a job well done, providing for his family, reading and learning about history from books and travels to historical sites and Presidential libraries, good food, a great looking lawn/garden, Christmas mornings and using the Golden Rule and Ten Commandments as his guide. He has left a legacy of devotion, integrity, and love of family.
A rosary will be held at 10:30 A.M. with funeral mass at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. Condolences and words of comfort may be shared at www.menkefuneralhome.com
