William Richard Worthington, age 80, a resident of Bath, NC passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Autumnfield Nursing Home. A private graveside service will be held 4:00 pm, Friday December 31, 2021 at St. Clairs Church of Christ and the service will be officiated by Craig Hagen. Mr. Worthington was born February 21, 1941 to the late Samuel David Worthington and Mittie Kathleen Bowen. On November 15, 1997 he married Wanda Harris. Richard worked at DuPont as a machine operator for 27 years until his retirement. He enjoyed working in the yard, church activities and spending time with his dogs. Other than his wife, survivors include a daughter, Donna Shiro (Brian) and son: Richard Harold Worthington (Dana), step children: Robert Everett, IV (Wendy), Michelle Mason (Jay) and Melinda Jackson (Lawrence), two grandchildren: Alexis Shiro and Zack Shiro. Six step grandchildren: Destiny Woodruff, Tara Walker, Ryan Mason, Colby Mason, Cameron Blake and Ethan Blake. Six step great grandchildren: Piper Jones, Colton Blake, Delaney Woodruff, Ainsley Woodruff and Reece Katherine Woodruff. Joseph B.
