Mantachie-William Royce "Bub" Yielding, 73, met his Creator on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at North Miss. Medical Center from injuries sustained in a tractor accident which occurred Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018. Bub, as he was affectionately and respectfully called, was born on Dec. 11, l944 in Itawamba County to the late Dayton Yielding and Zera Underwood Yielding. He graduated from Mantachie High School in l963 and attended Itawamba Community College. A lifelong Itawamba Countian, Bub worked several years for Pennsylvania Tire and Rubber before it closed then worked for Dean Truck Lines and Smith's Transfer in management. He founded and owned North Mississippi Sales in Saltillo for 29 years before retiring earlier this year. Bub was a committed Christian and devoted to God's commandment to "love thy neighbor as thyself". His special gift was serving God and his fellowman. He always went the extra mile and then some. He committed much of his life to working hard and providing for his family. He loved antiques, working outside in God's beautiful creation and piddling and repairing things. Bub and Linda attended Hope Church and were great fans of gospel music especially the Gaither's.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with his wife's nephew, Bro. Marvin Eskew officiating. J. J. Jasper will deliver the eulogy. Private burial will follow in the Yielding family plot in Mantachie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 PM-7PM today and from Noon-service time Friday all at Holland Funeral Directors, 5281 Cliff Gookin Blvd, Tupelo-which is honored to be serving their friends.
Bub is survived by his grateful family; Linda Keith Yielding, whom he married 53 years ago on Jan. 30, l965; his daughter, Kim Jackson and husband, Butch of the Houston Community of Itawamba Co., one son, Matt Yielding and his wife, Crystal of Mantachie. 4 grandchildren; CJ Jackson (Brianna), Victoria Jackson, Ethan Yielding and Maggie Yielding. One great grandchild, Collins Jackson.; Two sisters, Helen Funderburk and Sue Smith both of Mantachie; one sister in law, Earline Woods (Cecil) of Mooreville and several nieces and nephews-and his very special coffee shop friends.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Jimmy, David, Mark and Dayton Funderburk. Honorary pallbearers will be grandson's, CJ Jackson and Ethan Yielding.
