Willie Mae, I´ve missed you every day since the news of your passing. Your authentic kindness and unwavering faith in the good of people will live on in everyone who was blessed enough to know you. The last time we walked together, you said something that I´ll always remember while you were enjoying your time. You said, "there´s just so much to notice". I promise to notice just like you did, in the simplest and most profound ways. I will miss our chats dearly, but I´m so thankful to have shared that time with you. I cherished every story and thought you shared and all of the reminders to love fiercely. Your voice is cemented in my mind. I´m a better person for having known you. Rest beautifully my dear friend.

For her children and grand-children:
Willie Mae was a history buff and part of her
history she shared with me was, when she first knew about and met Bill. First time she entered her college dorm room, on the wall was painted his name. Later she went to a football game and
cheered him on and Bill told me "her voice was booming" that's their history. Her second love was her dog "Bismarck", she loved and cared for Bismarck like he was her fifth child.

I will always be grateful to Willie Mae for taking Sally to the Meta Centre once a week. She has always told me Sally is one of the people that impacted her life in a positive way. She remained a lifelong friend after we put Sally in a home. She had always been a friend before taking Sally to the Meta Centre, coming often to my father's restaurant for a coffee and a smoke, shooting the breeze with my father. She got to know all us kids, since we had to work in the restaurant. I will miss you Willie Mae.
