Wilma Ann Flagg, age 92, of Brick, NJ passed away on February 6, 2023, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick; Mom is with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and neighbor. Moms Christian Faith was an essential part of her life. She loved the Lord, her family, friends, church and community.
Mom was born and raised in Belleville, NJ and has lived in Elizabeth, Hazlet, Wyoming and California prior to retiring to Brick, NJ. An animal lover, an active gardner, Mom also loved spending time on the water boating and fishing. Mom was a very active woman and loved to travel. While in California she was the Commander of Ventura County Power Squadron and worked for the Oxnard County Housing Authority. While in Brick, she served as Resident Commissioner for the Brick Housing Authority.
Mom was a member of the International Woman’s Sorority Beta Sigma Phi, in the Laureate Nu Chapter; she was also an accomplished artist and the recipient of many awards for her painting and sewing artwork. She has been recognized for her volunteer work with the VFW and was very active in her church and local community.
Surviving Mom are her children; Linda Hahola ,Susan Cutler, Richard Flagg, James Flagg and Mimi Flagg; four grandchildren, Carrie Thorvardson & her husband Robert, Clay Hahola & his wife Catherine, Amanda Flagg & her partner Alexis, and Jonathan Flagg & his Fiancé Emily; she is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Fischer, and Calvin Thorvardson.
A memorial gathering for Mom will be held on Friday, February 24th 2023 from 3pm to 7pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road Brick, NJ 08723. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 25th at 2pm at Faith Reformed Church, 215 Middle Rd. Hazlet, NJ 07730

To Susan, Carrie & the Flagg family, I was saddened to hear of Wilma's passing. It had been some time since I heard from her. I still remember our times together in Oxnard. I left there in 1988 and was surprised when Wilma located me a few years ago. Carrie she told me you were a Mommy and she was so thrilled. She had a giving heart and really enjoyed life and I'm so glad I asked her to become a member of Beta Sigma Phi. There are a few pictures that I would like to mail to you and hope you will contact me. Sending our deepest sympathy.

Mrs. Flagg was one of my delivery customers at the pharmacy here in Brick. I had a bad feeling when we hadn't heard from her in a while for her medication deliveries and just saw this unfortunate news today. She was always so kind and sweet, and always so complimentary and grateful towards myself and the pharmacy, especially during covid. I enjoyed seeing her paintings that she would show me from time to time and just talking with her for a few minutes when I'd deliver her medications. It sounds like she lived a very full and rewarding life with lots of love from her family. I will miss seeing her. My condolences to her family and friends. RIP

Dear Linda, Susan, Richard, Jimmy and family - this loss is a big one and I am sending my deepest condolences! We were neighbors in Hazlet and all of you make up the fabric of my childhood, including your lovely Grandmother (I still miss her iced tea!) but your Mother.... she was a wonderful woman! She was a very dear friend to my mother with nothing but the kindest words to offer and great stories to share. I loved her beautiful Christmas cards and she would send me coupons in the mail after I had my children which always made me smile. She was a lovely person with a genuine heart - you are blessed to have had her this long and I send you all my love & support during these difficult days.

Dear Susan and family, I was sad to hear about your dear Mom's passing. My own departed over these past 2 years and I know how missed they are. It has been many years since I have seen your Mom but I remember her fondly. She was a beautiful person inside and out.
While I wish I could be there with you Saturday I send my prayers for God to send His Peace and Comfort. I believe she is in the Arms of the Savior whom she loved.
