Wilma M. Wendt

Dr. & Mrs. Wendt were so kind to our family. My parents, Herbert & Thelma Ding, had bought the Edwards Store & Post Office, in 1957, at Edwards, CO. My father, Herbert Ding, died of stomach cancer on 1-19-1959, at the V.A. Hospital, in Grand Junction, when I was only a month away from being three years old and my brother was nine! Later, we visited the Wendts, a few times, and they visited us once. Mrs. Wendt gave my mother her stone ground bread recipe!

Dr. & Mrs. Wendt were substantial in their help with my mother, Thelma Ding, when my father passed away from stomach cancer at the VA Hospital in Grand Junction, CO on 1-19-1959. I have a bread recipe Mrs. Wendt that my mother loved, involving raw sugar & stone ground wheat!
