Winston was my Cousin and I will miss him dearly. I remember the times we played together while growing up, Me, him and his brother Greg. I looked to him as a protector and an example of a "good man". Rest in peace Winston.

I met Chief Minor in the mid 90's. I was a newly promoted Battalion Chief with the City of San Jose Fire Department (San Jose, CA) attending my first Black Chief Officers Committee (BCOC) Conference. Chief Minor and the members of the BCOC were welcoming and supportive. Through the BCOC, and over many, many years I got to better know brother Winston and his lovely wife Angela. They were a fun loving couple and an example for others to follow. My wife and I looked forward to the annual BCOC Conference and reuniting with brother Winston, Angela, and the other fire service leaders. I attended BCOC Conferences in many of our great cities (E.g. Las Vegas, Jackson, Little Rock, Miami, Mobile, etc.), but the conference hosted by Atlanta and Chief Minor stands out. Due to Chief Minor's leadership and relations attendees of the Atlanta conference not only acquired new knowledge but was also embraced by the city. Chief Minor was a giant in the fire service. He mentored so many men and women Firefighters as they climbed the ranks of leadership. God Bless he and his family.
