I served with Winston on the Community Action Partnership's Certified Community Action Professional Certification Commission for the last several years. I was struck by his immense compassion and wisdom that he shared so freely with me and many across the country in the field of community action. We are the better for Winston having walked this earth. So while he is gone he is not forgotten but will live on in our hearts and memories. So may the God of all compassion and who makes all things new comfort you.

To the Ross Family,
Such a great loss has taken place in your family. As you persevere in prayer (Romans 12:12) together as a family, may you find solace at 2 Kings 20:5, where our Heavenly Father (Psalms 83:18) states "I have heard your prayers, I have seen your tears. I will heal you." With deepest sympathy.

Mr. Ross,
"Did a lot, for a lot." We were both recipients of his leadership and guidance. His humility was such that, most of those he helped probably never knew his name!
May his family find comfort in his greatness.
He will be sorely missed!

Winston was a friend, mentor and unwavering champion of civil and human rights. There was no cause too great or too small for him. He gave his full measure in every undertaking and with his calm attitude, stayed in the fight until it was won. He will be sorely missed.
