Winston Whitfield Obituary
Winston died March 20, 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born January 7, 1925, in Corinth to the late Benjamin Toy and Sarah Bertha Whitfield. He served as CEO of Magnolia Regional Health Center from 1977 to 1993. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of Rotary Club of Corinth, Curlee House, serving as a board member, and Corinth Artist Guild.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Evagene Robinson Whitfield; his son, Benjamin Calvin Whitfield; parents; brother, Maury Whitfield and his wife, Ann Jennings Whitfield.
He is survived by his wife, Genida Hopson Whitfield; daughter, Lynda Whitfield; son, William W. Whitfield his wife, Kandy; daughter-in-law, Becky Whitfield; grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Davis, Benjamin Paul Whitfield, Sarah (Walton) Hickman, William W. Whitfield Jr.; great grandchildren, Burtch, Hamlin, Lawson and Fischer Davis, Addie, Ward and Anne Miller Hickman; niece, Jennie Whitfield (Jack) Hibbard and their daughter, Jacqueline Hibbard; his blended family, Robin (Ricky Holder) Hopson, Regina (Todd) Ricketts, Max (Sonya) Hopson Jr; grandchildren, Brandon Ricketts, Lee Hopson, Seth Godwin, Steven Woodruff, Stephanie (Joe) Moore; great grandchildren, Oliva Hopson, Addison Moore, McKinley Moore, Aspen Woodruff.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to service time.
Memorials can be made to the Corinth Artist Guild 609 Fillmore St. Corinth, MS. 38834.

Mr Whitfield was such a kind leader. He was one of the most influential persons in my career, orchestrating my educational opportunities through the hospital, but mostly taking a personal interest in my success after doing so. I am saddened for.your loss.

My deepest condolences to Mrs Whitfield and family. I thought a lot of Mr Whitfield over the years I've know him, I may have been only a service provider for him, but he always made me feel like a close friend. He always had a smile on his face when I saw him and greeted me with a good morning. My heard breaks for your loss and the prayers of my family are for your comfort during this time.
