In memory of
Linda and Skip Lamb
January 26, 2010
We were saddened to hear of Wym's passing. With Wym's legacy of nearly 3 decades camping on site #50 at Lamb's Resort, the site won't be the same with out his late summer entourage of stargazers, food lovers and Temperance River swimmers. We will never forget his shipments of supplies prior to his arrival in the vintage Montecarlo, a vehicle which served him well for nearly two of the three decades. Our customers and employees were a part of Wym's generous spirit with late night meals shared around a Lake Superior campfire. All benefited from his astronomy expertise and meticulous records of the August meteor showers. He was an all around good guy and we look forward to sharing stories this summer when Wym reaches his final resting place. Skip and Linda Lamb - Charles and Jenny Lamb

Countless memories of times with Wym- stargazing, roof sitting, cooking, cruising in the choo us school bus, going to concerts and rock festivals, camping at Temperence River, jamming, trekking through Europe, chatting about science and classic movies, playing darts, watching football ... He was one in a million. I raise a glass of Irish Mist in your honor old friend. I will never forget you.

I didn't know Wym but after hearing all the stories about him from my friend Star, I sure wish I had. What wonderful memories you all have of him. They make me realize how much I've missed out. RIP Wym Willow. (such a beautiful name!)

Once
We were laughing, there was that instant we forgot ourselves.
Delirious in that moment, every smile belonged to us,our careless footfalls
scorned the river's edge, we plunged into its cold embrace. There was nothing and everything between us.
We danced,tangled hair among
silvering leaves as the earth caught fire with day's last passion,
when we were young.

My wife and I have known Wym for the last few years here in Schroeder. He is a part of history here. He and his name and what he did and all that he was will not be forgotten, he has now become a part of history on the North Shore. His kindness and freindship will live in our memories.........

Wym was a Virgo like I and we had "Virgo Parties", and he introduced me to the North Shore, Gooseberry Falls and Temperance River. We went to the Steven's Point outdoor festival in 1970 in the "choo us" school bus. He shared his trail mix nuts and dried fruits willingly, and the dried bananas were a treat. I know the times at 27th and Grand as well, and earlier. I am sad to hear he is gone and I too hope if we can meet again in the universe we will.

I knew Wym in the late 70's when I lived on 27th and Grand in Minneapolis. I have great memories of all the crazy times with Wym,Dave,Tim One,Tim Two,Wes, Paco,Toni, Patti,Jean,Tracy,Kenny and Mary Lou to name a few. No energy is lost, only takes a different form. We all might meet again in our next adventure!

Our last trip up North was 2002, last time we saw Wym but continued to receive the yearly calendar. We had plans to visit him last Saturday as we had tickets to the Wild game but got snowed in.
We were just talking about the wonderful food and fun we had with Wym and the rest of our friends, the trips up North were the reason we chose to get married on the Cross River and Lake Superior, staying at Lambs camp ground.
Allen was recently telling a friend about going to Wym's for Vikings games and how he loved the fact that he could even go to the bathroom and not miss a play!!!
I know many people will miss Wym whatever impact he had on their lives and no matter how long it's been since they had the pleasure of his presence.
I know we will, and I am so glad memories remain forever.

There is no doubt Wym is looking down upon us from the stars. He won't need his maps or a telescopes to see all the wonders of the universe anymore. Wym was a very special individual. We all are better people having had the priveledge of knowing him. Whether you were graced by his culinary skills or by his in depth knowledge of so many complicated things, Wym was truly a man of many talents. He was an educator, an artist, a cook, a naturalist, a sports fan, an astronomer, frugal yet generous in every way and above all a true friend. I love you Wym!! You will be missed!!!

Coincidentally my husband and I were just wondering the other day about Wym. Wondering what he was doing. We knew him from Vikings parties at Dave & Tim's apartment on Grand Ave. I lived in an apartment on 25th and Nicollet and he lived a block away. Since my apartment had a shared bath with no shower, he was kind enough to let me use his shower. His was a very unique guy. Sad to hear he is gone.

I am glad that I got a chance to see Wym this past November for the first time in a long while. We worked at the same place for seven years.
Outside of work, I will always remember the great times we had at his place for many Vikings parties and the above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty he showed with this hospitality and incredible spreads of food which no doubt took hours to prepare. That warm, mischeivous, and genuine Irish grin of his will never be forgotten by me or anyone else who was fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
We will see you on the other side my friend - I am guessing that you will probably have some kind of a buffet ready when we get there and we will sit back and laugh and watch some Vikes games. Rest in peace -

Its odd how little I've seen Wym in the past years, but how much I've talked about him.
The North Shore
Endless Pizzas.
Both red and white chowder.
The only person I knew with a fridge in the kitchen and living room.
Waking up in South America with only his passport, plane ticket and a few teeth.
Put a raspberry in your Champagne.
Rest In Peace.

I have fond memories of Wym.
Somewhere, I have images of Wym sitting on a roof top with Ken Larson and John Stanton in South Mpls. and also some North Shore camping/feasting/etc. trips we all took together in the early days. Bill Plattes

What a great loss. I worked with Wym for many years at Vaughn Communications. Although we hadn't talked in many years, I recall his kindness, smile and his cooking.
RIP Wym

Always a smile, a handshake, a friendly hello, and a bit of (always) good advice.
We'll see you in Tofte in August, Buddy - dancing with Aurora Borealis and playing pinball with the Perseids.
Rest In Peace, My Friend...
