From the late 70s to the mid 80s, Wynn was my boss at Waldun. I started as a cleanup boy on weekends chipping away at the burner contents, to loading trucks and moved onto full time work doing a multiple of jobs. Wynn was a strong steady influence, a man I respected and feared, a man whose work ethic was an inspiration. Thank you to his family for sharing him with us in this journey.

I've just now learned of Wynn's passing. I knew him in high school (Killarney) and then our paths crossed again when I worked for Worksafe B.C. He was very hospitable and I will always remember being introduced to his pet - the pot-bellied pig. R.I.P. Wynn.

I would like to send my heart felt condolences to the family. He was a good man. I worked for Wynn from 1988 to 1996 at Waldun Forest Products. He was more than an employer he was a friend. I had a lot of respect for Wynn, he always took the time to talk to me. I was the first to retire from the company in 1996 and Wynn treated me well.

A great guy to work for. He took risks and accomplished things many others only dream of. He was the heart and soul of Walduns forest products and kept people employed in times of extreme duress. He was a positive influence on his children and all of the people around him.

Nick and I were very saddened to hear of Wynn's passing. We had the pleasure of meeting Wynn on a business trip to Canada in 2010. We'd already done a tour of the mill when Curtis suggested that we pay a visit to his dad's house. Upon arrival we were greeted by a fire engine parked on the front lawn and we immediately knew that Wynn would be our kind of guy. Despite dropping in unannounced Wynn gave us a warm welcome. He thrust a couple of cold beers our way and gave us a full guided tour of his amazing home. It was an unforgettable day and although we didn't get to know Wynn very well he left a lasting impression on us. Our thoughts go out Wynn's family at this most difficult of times. To all the Walker family, I wish to convey my sincere condolences. I worked with Wynn at the Burn Road Mill, as well as Ruskin, where at one point I lived on the mill site.
There, I spent long days immersed in Wynn's world. His enthusiasm was contagious, and I enjoyed every minute. Wynn was truly a unique character; he had the ability to challenge each individual he crossed paths with. You would never bring anything less than you're A game' while in his company.
Wynn was the human presence in a demanding business. He was the most influential person in my life.

So very sorry for your loss, Tracey and family.
I first met Wynn when I worked for the Clarke's in the '80's, and then knew him much better when I worked for him beginning in 2000.
What I became to understand was how incredibly sensitive, kind hearted and shy he was.
There was a gentle side of Wynn that was often misunderstood (but not by those closest to him)
He was a quick wit, and relished in being able to put sassy people in there place.
He was a character. He had amazing personality, and he will be truly missed.

May you light the heavens as you did here. So saddened by the news of his passing. Will always remember his friendly wave as he toured around in his car. His amazing Christmas light displays always brought our family together for evening walks in our neighbourhood, as his display were always second to none.

Hi Tracey and family, Just wanted to say how sad I am to hear of Wynn passing. When I first started working for him in 1975 my life was in great turmoil and he treated me so well, gave me a job and more or less turned my life around. I always considered him a good friend. Warm thoughts to you and your family.

The Walker family:
I met Wynn in 1976 when I joined CSSB. Throughout the next 15+ years I either visited with Wynn at the mill or interacted with him at the Board of Directors' meetings. We shared many gardening stories over the years. What a tragedy to lose him. My prayers and blessings to the family. Patty Wood-Shields (former VP CSSB)
