Xavier Winter Neu

Xavier bid farewell as he passed away due to sudden health complications on September 6, 2022. Xavier was known as a handsome, sharp, and fiercely loyal individual to those that knew him well. Born in Colorado Springs, his life started in Manitou Springs almost simultaneously with his early life, four-legged companion, Topaz. As the youngest of the family for many years, he relished every road trip, snowboard trip, skate park visit, Topaz walk, and any moment with family.

Xavier and his family eventually found their way to Rhode Island where his uniquely affable personality flourished and found his home for the rest of his life. His wonderful light attracted other genuine personalities that blossomed into unwavering friendships of the highest dedication. Between Middletown and Newport, he made friends with Cam, Cody, Maddy, Victor, Jamall, Dan, Matt (Tubbs), and Ryan that supported each other relentlessly. When Xavier was not with his friends, he was looking for the next adventure with his Yorkie best friend, Oppy. In his final months back in Colorado, Xavier's last contribution to the world was saving Aspyn after they met in the animal shelter. In standard Xavier fashion, he showed the initially timid Aspyn the kind of love and attention she had never seen before that helped her become the happiest of dogs.

Xavier will be remembered as the truest friend and most loyal of supporters. He was a sympathetic individual that felt the struggles and pain in friends, family, and nature's creations as a dedicated animal lover. Xavier would go the extra 50 miles to brighten one's day and pray for your well-being until fortune came; truly no one else better to step up and fight for you.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Lucille Neu, Mamerto Navarro, and Maria Rivera; uncles, Jerry, Dennis and Nicholas Neu and Richard and Rigoberto Navarro; and pets, Topaz and Oppy.

Xavier's memory lives on in a large community of family, friends, and supporters including his father, Stephen Gerard Neu (Lisa Cooper); mother, Julia Navarro-Neu; sisters, Sabrina Neu and Camille Tompkins (Spencer Tompkins); brothers, Sean (Katherine Podgorski) and Alex Neu (Kelera Bates); nephew, Lucas G. Melillo Neu; uncles, Robert (Marie), Tom (Shawna), Jim (Betty), Rick (Laura), Ted, Chris and Scott, and Oscar and Reggie Navarro (Patte); aunts, Janet and Helen Neu, Sue Murley, Dianne Harvey (John Harvey), Celia Veran, Rita Navarro-Cramond (Tim Cramond), and Dianne Navarro; pet, Aspyn; and numerous cousins and friends.
