I didn't know Mrs. Fernandes-Baxter personally but, I have always been a big fan of hers. She was very beautiful, talented and had a smile that would light up a room and instantly make you want to smile with her. I'm proud to have found out that she and I have a few things in common; in particular, we both got our certification to teach school. I thank and remember her for all the good work she did in her short years, in public as well as her private dedication to volunteering.❤❤❤
In 1979, I had the pleasure of directing and acting with Yahee Fernandes-Baxter as Emilia in "Othello" at the Globe Theater, in West Hollywood. As you can see from this photo, she was electric on stage. I am the shirtless black man on th

I am totally devastated. You have always been a part of my life and only a phone call away for all the milestones. I won't look at reunion the same without you. Love to your family

I was at a Dartmouth game, and the megawatt cheerleader at the top of the human pyramid looked so familiar ! It was my neighbor Yahee ! She brought her cheer and sunshine to Smith - shared it the generous way she always did. I remember how she coaxed me into dancing in the Amherst College production of Tommy. The happiest days of college. Love you forever, old friend !

Yahee was a trooper! A wonderful, vibrant character on and off stage. What an amazing voice!! We were lucky to have her on our Windsor stages. Sad to hear of her untimely passing. She left many fond memories behind. A fun and sweet grandma figure to my son in Pippin. Thank you, Yahee.
