Yasminie (Tellez) Oar, age 46, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away on July 30th, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was born on March 21, 1978, in Chicago, IL. Her life was an elegant tapestry woven with love, joy, and a unique spirit that touched everyone she encountered.

Yasminie was a cherished daughter, devoted wife, nurturing mother, loving sister, fun aunt, and loyal friend. Yasminie is survived by her devoted husband, William ("Bill") Oar, Sr., who was her rock and constant source of love and support; her three remarkable children: William Oar, Jr., Duke Oar, and Marcelina Oar, to them, she was not just a mother but a source of unwavering encouragement, boundless affection, and joy; her mother, Nereida Medina, whose eternal love for her youngest daughter knows no equal; Father, Saul Tellez; her adoring sisters, Melinda Manglardi (husband John Manglardi) and Hilda Burton, and her brother, John Manchur who were the cornerstones of her strength; her loving mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rita Oar and Warren ("Bill") Oar; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shari Harris and Chris Harris; and her many cherished nieces and nephews, Marcelina, Joseph, John Manglardi, Jr., Jessica, Rachel, John Manchur, Jr., Devon, Annalise, Anaya, Zechariah, Anjelica, Devin, and Kayla. She was preceded in death by her older brother, George Manchur, whose memory she carried with her always.

Yasminie's presence was marked by her warm heart, playful spirit, and radiant smile. She had an extraordinary ability to brighten any room with her infectious energy, and her family and friends will remember her creativity, love for music, and goofy humor as hallmarks of her character. Yasminie's memory will forever be a beautiful reflection of her enthusiasm for life. She had a way of making everyone around her feel cherished and valued.

As we say goodbye to Yasminie, we take comfort in the beautiful memories she has left behind. Her legacy of love, creativity, and joy will continue to inspire and uplift us. She will forever be a guiding light in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A memorial service to celebrate Yasminie's life and the incredible person she was will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8601 Harrison Ave, Munster, IN 46321.

I´m so sorry for your loss of dear Yasminie: what a beautiful person. I remember her as always a bright, friendly ray of sunshine at First Home and will hold her as a dear memory.

Jasminie Oar... what a sweet soul... Heaven's gain and the world's loss... the family's loss.... praying for her wonderful and accommodating husband William and her children Will, Duke and Marcelina to continue to strive to be their best selves as a testament to the living and nurturing mother and wife they had... it's not easy for sure and life's not fair... but it's what we have now... God bless your journey from today forward...Mom's spirit will be with you forever...

Yasmine was one of the first people I met when I started working at St. Paul's School. She was exceedingly welcoming to me, and made sure I felt like family. I will forever miss her! God bless my friend!
