Yolanda Dunn Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 10, 2024.
Yolanda Marie Dunn, 44, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, passed away suddenly on the morning of Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Yolanda was born on April 8, 1980, to Andrea Gonzales, in Fruita, Colorado. Yolanda graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 1998, where she began dating her future husband, Bob Dunn. In February 2002, Yolanda and Bob were engaged, and in August 2002, the young couple moved to Boston, Massachusetts, when Bob was hired by The TJX Companies Inc.

Once in Boston, Bob's manager suggested that Yolanda should apply at TJX. Yolanda was skeptical that TJX would even consider her, however, she received an interview and was hired before she even walked out the door. Yolanda worked at TJX's corporate headquarters and later transferred to the company's California Buying Office, in Los Angeles. Yolanda was promoted numerous times throughout her twenty-two-year career and held the title of Manager of Merchandise Operations prior to her passing. Yolanda always had a soft spot for the underdog and was known for consistently putting herself on the line for those she believed in.

Yolanda and Bob were married on July 12, 2003. Five years later, Yolanda gave birth to the couple's only child, Gabriella, on October 20, 2008. Yolanda was an amazing wife and mother. She loved her family and was the ultimate caregiver. Yolanda was also an amazing friend to countless people. The best word to describe Yolanda is "Loyal." Once Yolanda was on your side you had an advocate for life.

Yolanda enjoyed cooking, the Denver Broncos, WWE, Quakes games, the beach, all types of music, and most of all, simply spending time with family and friends.

Yolanda is survived by her husband of twenty-one years, Bob Dunn; her daughter, Gabriella Dunn; her mother, Andrea Gonzales; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held at Mountainview Church, 7986 Haven Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga, California 91730, on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.

An additional service will also be held at New Elmwood Cemetery, 1175 17 1/4 Road, Fruita, Colorado 81521, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., where Yolanda will be laid to rest.

The family would like to thank everyone who has expressed their condolences and shared their memories of Yolanda. She was a remarkable woman who touched many lives with her kindness, generosity, love, and faith in Jesus Christ. Though she will be tremendously missed, we take comfort in knowing that she is safely in the hands of our Lord for eternity.

There are too many special memories of Yols. Her unfailing loyalty, always fighting for the underdog, strong sense of integrity, and most of all, our marathon phone calls that I never wanted to end. The Walton family will miss her forever. She was special and loved.

Yolie was the best sister in law ever, and she was absolutely the most loyal person I have ever met. We laughed a lot and I will miss everything about her.
