Yolanda,
I just found out today! - I can't even believe it's true. We knew each other for over 30+ years. We were crazy and full of life. We had some wild times along with our husband's then - Robert and John - How is this possible?? I'm crying as I write this because I will never forget you, Sandra, and our special friendship.
My love to you and your family

The SHORTtime I had to get to Know Yolanda was much shorter than I had ever expected, just eight months, but it was the best eight months I have ever known anyone. Yolanda was special in so many ways. Her love for dancing and joy of life, always giving of herself to her family and friends. She has truly changed my world and life. Her friends are many but her Kazamba group the BEST. Always laughing, smiling, and up for the next gig. I have so many pictures of her in all her costumes and of us together and the MANY MEMORIES we made in such a short time. The bus ride back from BorderFest is one many memorable Times. Where ever the party, it became Yolanda's party, always wanting to dance. She is now with the LORD, her sister and brother and we all miss her so greatly. To Tony, your mother was the most beautiful person (in & out) I have ever had the company of. To Nick, I cannot imagine the great loss she is to you, your wonderful, loving sister, and to your Mother, Families and Kazamba Family no words enough. Thank You for sharing Yolanda with me. You will all be in my PRAYERS forever. I Love you all. God Bless.

My name is Vivian Torrez and I work at Acorn Housing in the San Antonio office, I would like Yolanda's family to know how greatful we were to have her associated with Acorn. Yolanda was always very gracious and took time from her busy schedule in assisting with our classes. We could always count on her for support. Yolanda made many people's dreams come true by helping them buy their homes. I remember her vitality for life and her dancing. We will miss her but we were truly blessed for having known her.
Our sympathy to all her loved ones on behalf of Acorn Housing.

Yolanda with her beautiful way of presenting at our homebuyer's education class here at Avenida Guadalupe Association and her awesome smile and her vast knowledge held her audience captive. I am deeply sorry for your and the community's loss, we can only thank God for allowing us to know her on this earth, we'll see her soon in Heaven.

Yolie, You were the little Shirley Temple of the family. I'll always remember you that way. I'll never forget the fun we would have at your house growing up. The parties, singing and dancing, we all had lots of fun. You were the life of the party then and even when we grew up. A party wasn't a party unless Yolie was there. To hear of your passing will leave a void in our hearts but the memories will never die. Our love goes out to Tony and his family, Tia Pita and Nick, Sylvia and Jackie and all the other family and friends that Yolie embraced. All our Love, Your Cuz
