Yoochul Ahn Obituary
Born on November 4, 1942, Dr. Ahn pursued a distinguished career in medicine. He graduated from Catholic Medical University in Seoul, South Korea, and completed his internship training at St. Mary's Hospital of Catholic Medical University. Furthering his expertise, he completed a four-year orthopedic residency at St. Mary's Hospital and successfully passed the board examination administered by the Korean Orthopedic Association.
In May 1972, Dr. Ahn joined the South Korean Navy and faithfully served his country until his honorable discharge in May 1975. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to orthopedic surgery and established a private practice at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma, beginning in July 1982. Through decades of service, he became a trusted and respected physician within the community.
Dr. Ahn is survived by his beloved wife, Dukheh Ahn; his son, Bobby Ahn; his daughter, Gina Pierce, son-in-law Paul Pierce; and two granddaughters Poppy Pierce and Louisa Pierce.
A man of great dedication and kindness, Dr. Ahn was known for his hard-working nature and thoughtful spirit. He and his family will always hold deep gratitude for the people of Elk City, whose support and friendship enriched their lives.
