Dear Mrs. Scroggins-Chen,

Please accept my condolences on Mr. Yue Chen's death. I am grateful for the chance to get to know him (and you); his overall positive attitude, realistic optimism and stoicism under very difficult circumstances were nothing short of inspiring.
I am glad that you were together at the time of his passing.
