We join Catharine Bensley in mourning the loss of a naturally gentle, caring, and devoted friend - his kindness and devotion extended over so many years. He was patient, human, and humane. He was charming, handsome, and urbane. He shared his knowledge, his keen observations, wit, and skills freely and with warmth. His enthusiasm for the natural world marked him as a kindred spirit. We will especially miss him in the spring when the wild blue flowers peek through winter's last snows, and again in the summer, when Yvan would come bearing the sunshine of the season's change and a cheesecake. There will not be a time when this lovely, humble man will not be missed.
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to you, his family and friends, on your immeasurable loss. We join you in your sorrow. Au revoir, Yvan, and bon voyage!
