I took early morning spinning classes with Yvonne since she started at the Y. She made it entertaining while she challenged us to do the best we could, and then do more. Sometimes, she talked us through scenery--the ride to her parents' Vermont house was my favorite. I don't know that I would have stuck to an exercise regimen without her encouragement and I thank her for that.
We also shared information about ourselves in class--if we had the breath. Yvonne was like the energizer bunny---she did so much for her family, her work, her community. The love she felt for all of it was clear.
Her favorite topic was the people she held dearest: her children, grandchildren, and Gary. She absolutely beamed when we talked about the weddings, the births of the four kids, the adventures she and Gary had.
She was a loyal, true friend and I consider myself lucky to have had her in my life. What I learned from her will stay with me, in many areas of life. I would say "rest in peace" but I can't imagine Yvonne resting. I hope she is getting to do her version of Heaven. Condolences to everyone who loved her.

I am so sorry for your loss. While I only knew Yvonne as a yoga/pilates instructor at the Middlesex YMCA, it was obvious from the start what a special person she was making the experience all the more memorable.

To Yvonne's family, I am so sorry for your loss. Yvonne became president of The Exchange Club the year after me and we became friends in the transition. She dedicated her life to making Middlefield and Durham better places to live and through her great energy impacted all. She will be sorely missed. With Sympathy, Fred Raley

Yvonne was one of the most positive, upbeat leaders I have ever met. She always had a solution or new approach, when circumstances presented challenges. The first time I met Yvonne was as a guest at an Xmas exchange meeting , where she made sure I was welcomed and comfortable. She will be missed.

Yvonne was my dear friend and neighbor for many years. We often met in the road between our houses to chat and catch up. She trusted me to "keep an eye out", while she was away traveling, and to care for her cats when she had them. We tried to get together for dinners monthly depending on our schedules and she always attended my family get togethers celebrating whatever it was at the time. There were lots of laughs, giggles, and sometimes tears and frustration with whatever was happening in our lives. I enjoyed hearing about all the trips she took with Gary and seeing them do yard work----those farmer jeans he wore. Seeing Adam's boys for Halloween will be missed as well because I always knew Lucas would be making his way up my side walk so I could fill him up with all kinds of goodies because for sure they would be at Yvonne's. Looking out my living room window will never be the same knowing she will not be coming home. You will truly be missed my dearest friend.....Heaven is lucky to have you, but I wish we could have kept you here with us just a bit longer. ~G~
