Lawton, Oklahoma will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2026 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
All arrangements are entrusted in Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Mrs. Parker passed away on Friday, December 26th, 2025.
Yvonne "Evie" Rose Parker was born on February 5, 1936 in Knoxville Tennessee. She married Curtis Parker in 1952. After living in Tennessee, Georgia and Ohio, the military brought them to Lawton Oklahoma in 1964 where she spent the remainder of her life.
Evie was a wonderful country cook, loved to fish and was an avid gardener. The joke was always that she could grow anything big and tall but children. Her home was the gathering place throughout the years for family, friends, kids, teenagers, strangers and countless celebrations. Everyone was welcome, as long as they didn't park in the grass!
She was just as sweet as she was spicy. Her sense of humor was quick and sharp witted. There was never a time I can recall not being around her that one of us didn't say: Mom behave!
While her last few months were filled with hospitals and rehabs, she sparkled and shined at each facility and loved being the center of attention. Every step along the way, she claimed the favorite status with almost every person she interacted with. Her words of wisdom they asked her for one day was: Act right so you don't get smacked. Everyone naturally gravitated to her wanting to chat to hear what shenanigans she would say next.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Parker; son, Jeffery Parker; parents, Cauley and Myrtle Rose; sisters, Bonnie Moore and Inez Hoover; brothers, Denny, Ellis, Lennis and Ralph Rose.
She is survived by daughters, Connie Parker, Pamela and son-in-law Gary Brooks, Cheryl Parker McDevitt, Christi and son-in-law Shane Hull and bonus daughter Gail Holloway; grandchildren, Shelly Reagin, Tamara Richardson, DeeDee Goodman, Meghan Finlay, Lauren Adkinson, Jennifer Elizalde, Cali-Jo Parker, Brandan Parker, Ashley Reece, Addison Hull, Savannah Hull, Josie Hull, Torey Parker and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and life-long loving friends.
While she will be missed by many, she and her daughters were exceptionally close and are left with a deep void without her. She wasn't perfect, but she was perfect for them.
A heartfelt thank you to Krista Gordon, M.D. for years of great care, Dr. Brady Hagood M.D. and the entire staff at Community South Hospital in Oklahoma City for the above and beyond care she was given, Oklahoma City Rehabilitation Hospital for building back her strength and the exceptional "felt like home" care given at Mangum Regional Hospital Swing Unit. Special thanks to Mary Barnes, N.P. for alerting us to this little hidden gem in the middle of nowhere.
