Yvonne Harrison

Yvonne Roper Harrison, age 87, left this world for a better one on January 9, 2024. She was born on March 1, 1936 in Vernal UT to Bryant and Marcella Roper. She was the third of six children.
Yvonne spent her early living in Idaho, Montana and then moving back to Vernal, UT Her childhood was spent in the Maeser area where she attended Maeser Elementary.
Yvonne met Kermit Harrison while attending high School. They married on April 1, 1953 in Naples, UT.
Kerm and Yvonne were sealed on their sixth month anniversary in the Salt Lake Temple on Oct. 1, 1953.
They spent most of their lives in the Naples area.
Yvonne was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has a strong testimony of prayer and priesthood blessings. She had many experiences of her lifetime that strengthened her knowledge. She served in various callings throughout her life primary teacher, primary chorister, primary secretary, Sunday school teacher. She was compassionate service leader for many years. She also served as a visiting teacher, and did indexing for a number of years.
She worked at several places during the years. She worked as a school lunch cook, clerk at Sprouse-Reitz, cake decorator at Day's bakery.
Yvonne had many hobbies and was very talented at them. She loved doing counted cross stich.
Embroidery, quilting, crocheting, and cake decorating were just a few of her talents that she shared with so many.
Visitors didn't leave her home without a treat. The last few years she had rice krispy treats for all she visited with.
The family wishes to thank all those who have had a part in Yvonne's life. We appreciate Canyon Hospice for the care that was given.

Yvonne is survived by: Children- Holt and Tina Harrison, Linus and Trixie Harrison, Yvette Thomas, Jennie Withee, Julie Harrison, Leo and June Harrison. 40 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren. Brothers and sisters: Zelma Lyons, Elaine and Cleve Karren, Clifton and Maria Roper, Ardith Wolf, Farron and Alene Harrison.
Preceded in death by: Husband and best friend, Kermit Harrison. Son- Lamond, infant son, parents-Bryant and Marcella Roper. Siblings: Verla and Darvel Cook, Bruce Lyons, Loyd and Ann Roper, Clayton Roper, Bill Wolf, Trevor and Elaine Harrison, Kent and Gaylene Harrison, Jean and Norman Rogers.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11 AM at the Naples Chapel (1500 East 2313 South)

Viewings Sunday 6-8 at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and Monday at the church 9:45-10:45

Burial in the Vernal Memorial Park next to her sweetheart Kerm.
