Mrs. Hudson was my 3rd grade teacher in Germany in 1982-83. I remember asking her how tall she was and telling her that I planned to look just like her when I grew up. She laughed (I was a tiny white girl) and said I might not make 55. Mrs. Hudson made such a positive impact on me that I became a teacher. I hope I can pass on the kindness, class, and compassion that she showed her students.

To Family and Friends of my Dear Sister-Friend Yvonne Hudson. I am so happy that she has such a wonderful family to assist her through the medical challenge. I cherish the times we had together, especially in High School and the Sorority. I live on the West Coast, and I am not able to be there in person for the memorial service...but I will be there in spirit. Keep well and may her spirit continue to make all of us smile. McKinley...I will give you a call soon.

What an absolutely wonderful neighbor! Yvonne made me feel more than welcome from the day she walked to my house to greet me, to the day she hosted me for a wonderful lunch, to our chats on the phone and play dates with the girls. Always encouraging, always kind. And now - truly missed.

Mrs. Hudson always had a good thing to say even in the most negative of situations. She was strong and never would let any student get down on themselves and made them realize they could do anything. She will truly be missed. MCPS was lucky to have her as an educator and a mentor to so many people. I am lucky to have called her my friend.
