I am in shock! Yvonne is the second person I thought of recently and wanted to get in touch with. But to my dismay they had passed away. I knew Yvonne in Wisconsin and we both ended up in CA. She had stayed with me when she moved from Georgia in the middle eighties. I didn't know she left CA to go there. And that was a ongoing joke with us. She had moved to the valley and I think she lived in Valley Village. I worked for CBS and was at the Broadcast Center in Studio City. Saw her last at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Not sure of the year. She looked great. We exchanged numbers. But you get busy and you think you have time. I looked her up on Facebook, saw a lot of Yvonne Sykes but nothing to indicate it could be her. Then I googled. Could not believe what I read. Saw the information in December of 2021. Still in shock. I retired in May of 2019. Left CA in 2020 to reside in Vegas. Wanted to get in touch with friends to say, Mi Casa, Su Casa. My sincere condolences to Yvonne Sykes family. In theses times we are all facing something. I pray that we all remain safe, healthy and surrounded by love. In God's Grace. Always In Vision and Only A Thought AwAy

This is very devastating. Today I found out my Friend has passed. We've known each other since the late 80's. Worked together at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. I will miss our long conversations on the telephone. I can't believe it. Very sorry I missed the California service. My Condolences to the Family. Yvonne loved her Family. Rest in Heaven!

Words cannot express how broken I am to find out that you passed away while I was on medical leave from JPL. I'm so broken and I miss you so much.....Thank you for being a friend to me when I started on lab in January 2005, inviting me to jazz concerts, hanging out on the weekends and introducing me to very nice restaurants, the laughs and the talks going to the nail salon, thank you for coming to my home after surgery and bringing me lunch from BF Chang's, LOL.....Now I know why I was unable to reach you, the tears just keep falling......Rest in heaven my friend :)

I've been thinking of Yvonne and wishing we'd stayed in touch after she left JPL. She was fun to work with and I appreciated our shared understanding of being a Recruiter at such a special place for many years. Sending my condolences to the family.
