Zachari Townsend Obituary
Zachari Ann Townsend, age 46, of Stanton, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester. Born in Winchester on July 21, 1976 she was the daughter of the late Jon Duane Townsend and Margaret D. Ewen Chenault. Zachari was a certified paramedic working during her career for the Powell County Ambulance Service and the Jessamine County Ambulance Service. She also worked for a time as a Powell County dispatcher. She loved to be outdoors and loved to fish. She really enjoyed reading books of all kinds and studying medical material that helped her with her profession as a paramedic. She was very interested in astronomy and astrology and enjoyed looking at the stars and the moon. Zachari had a great sense of humor with a dry wit and at the same time was very compassionate and accepting. She is survived by her mother, Margaret D. (Gary) Chenault of Stanton; one daughter, Keely (Lilly) Shelton of Winchester; one brother, Larkin (Whitney) Townsend of Richmond; two grandchildren: Easton Flinchum and Amryn Shelton; two aunts; Sydney Ewen and BoPree Young; four cousins: Kelly (Tim) Conley of Georgetown, Anna Kate Conley of Stanton, Larkin Young of Lexington and Alex Chiles of Georgetown; one niece Caroline James Townsend and two nephews: Jon Hundley Townsend and Chase Wilson. Funeral services officiated by Terry Ewen will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation is also on Saturday and begins from noon until service time. Honorary Pallbearers are Jouette Harrison, Eddie Barnes, Dr. Taufik Kassis, Dr. Ananth Kumar, Michele Prince, Rachel Rhodes, Nathania Bush, Stacy Phillips, Nathan Zachary, Chase Southwood, Phoebe Everman, David Thorpe, Brinton Epperson, Cory Graham, Jake Rogers, Steven Hardy, All Powell County Emergency Response Personnel, Powell County Sheriff’s Office and the Powell County High School Class of 1994. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home.

I will sure miss Zach!!! I saw her the day before she passed away At Walgreens. She seem so weak n tired! She said she had felt so bad! We hugged but didn’t talk long because I had to get back to mom and she said she was to weak to stand long. I told her I’d come by to see her, but I never got the chance!!! :,( I’m so sad!! We always take for granite that there will be tom!! Had I known I’d have hugged her lol tighten n lol longer and walked her to her car and talked lot longer!! And even went n sat with her who knows maybe. I feel so bad!!! I’m so sorry Zach I let u down!!! I love you my heart is broke!!! RIP MY LIL FRAIL BODIED FRIEND ON EARTH I pray you’ve got ur awesome angels wings halo, and beautiful new Zach body and smile, and brain with no lesions!! Soar with the other angels in Heaven!! ♥

Zach you are one of a kind and missed so much!! Thank you for all of the memories working together at JCEMS. We always got into ctap while at work, but we always managed to smile and laugh our butts off. Fly high girl...keep an eye on all of us and let me know you're still there every once in awhile!! Love you girl!!!

The news of Zac's sudden death has heartbroken me. I loved her cheerfulness, humor, and energy. We spent a month going through chemo together, yet she was always humble, hilarious, and busy with a hundred different things at once. I also enjoyed meeting her caring mother and can only imagine her anguish. My thoughts and prayers are with her mom, Keely, and other family members.
I have faith that Zac is now free from pain and is keeping watch over us. Be at rest now, my pal. The world was a better place when you were in it.

Steve and I were privileged to have spent time with Zac in Puebla, whilst we were having stem cell treatment. She was so strong and determined, and clearly loved her family so much. We’re so sorry to hear of her passing, what a huge loss to all.

Witty, outspoken, forthright, but also a sensitive, generous and caring friend. She was unabashedly sugar and spice, like it or not. She was just....Zach. Glad to have known her and call her a friend and will miss her and her insightful and funny banter so much. I just reread the last 13 years of messages and texts that she and I have had.
