Zachary Taylor Rector, age 33, of Bethany Beach died Monday, February 14, 2022. He was born in Manassas, VA and is the son of Charles V. and April (Kessler) Rector.
Zachary was a loving and devoted father to his daughter, Amelia who he shared with his longtime partner and friend Theresa Scaziello-Kelly. He spent weekends with Amelia whenever schedules would allow. They traveled to many places, Disney World, Dollywood, Spy Museum and D.C. any enjoyed many outdoor activitives.
Zack attended Fork Union Military Academy. He was a graduate of Indian River High School and was a certified personal trainer. He also held an associated degree in Cyber Security.
Zack was an Integration Operations Manager for Xator. He was good at his profession and was held in high esteem by many of his colleagues. His job allowed him to travel much of the world.
He enjoyed driving fast, weightlifting, mountain hiking, snowboarding, and riding his motorcycle with friends. He was an accomplished wrestler and football player. He had played semi pro with Sussex Ravens. Additionally, he enjoyed legos and board games. His goals for his adult life were career advancement and wealth.
He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed for a long, long time.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and April Rector of Bethany Beach; his daughter, Amelia Rector of Dagsboro; a brother, Patrick Rector and wife Poppy of Enoch, Utah, two sisters, Lady Heather Rector of Cheltenham, PA and Hillary Rector of Altucas, CA; grandparents, Tom and Jacqueline Rorrer of Fredericksburg, VA; grandmother, Genevieve Kessler of Frankford; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jerry L. Kessler Sr. and Charles T. Rector.
A memorial service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, February 26th at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville. Friends may call an hour before the service.

April and Family, I remember you from your time working at the Moose. I was very sorry to hear that you lost your wonderful son. May he rest in Peace. The following verse brought us some consolation when we lost our son Danny. When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it. You just slowly learn how to go on without them, but always keeping them tucked safely in your heart.
