Zach Rich, 1985-2016
Zachary Scott Rich, 30, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, of congestive heart failure because of Friedreich's ataxia.A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, May 23, at Stoney Creek Inn, 2601 S. Providence Road, with a lunch to follow at Leech Pavilion at Bethel-Cosmo Park. Zach’s final resting place will be in Pactola Lake in Rapid City, S.D.Born in Denver, Colo., on Sept. 21, 1985, Zach was a beloved son, brother and mentor to many. He inspired all those who knew him. He was an active member of Living Church of God, and his faith was very important to him. He was a student at Moberly Area Community College, working on a degree in business. Because of his perseverance in the face of adversity, MACC has established an award in his honor, “Rich’s Outstanding Student Award," which will be given to one student per yearZach is survived by his mother, Julie Rich; father, Scott Rich; sister, Morgan Rich; brothers, Ian Rich and Jared Rich; grandmothers, Nancy White and Marj Rich; and many other family members and friends.
