Zenovia STENNER Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Feb. 5, 2014.
STENNER, Zenovia (Zonia) Rose
Born July 13, 1941 passed away peacefully on January 31, 2014 at 72 years young at her favorite place on earth, Starbucks. Zenovia's name originates from the Greek title "Captain of the Ship", while "Zonia" originates from the Austrian title "Magestic Queen of Heaven". Clearly her name represents the amazing person she was. Zenovia's children include Thane, Lisa, Justyn, Leighton, Vanessa and Tanya, who miss her dearly. She celebrates in Heaven with her 2nd youngest daughter Vanessa, happily keeping each other company. Cherished by her adoring husband Gordon (who lovingly refers to his wife as "ZeeDee"), celebrated their 50 year Anniversary this month. In addition, Zenovia is survived by her daughters-in-law (past and present) Darci, Kimberley, Anita and Lori. As well as sons-in-law David, Jason, Ray and Bernie. She will be greatly missed by her 14 grandchildren Dustin, Chelsea, Vaughn, Chantel, Miranda, Seth, Gabrielle, Benjamin, Justynne, Tage, Ray Jr., Alexia, Royce, Chanel and great-grandson Maverick. Born in Vegreville Alberta, Zenovia was raised with her 8 siblings Velma, Mike, Peter, Lillian, John, Rose, Vikki and Gloria. There will be a Celebration of her Life on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at Sevenoaks Alliance Church located at 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford BC (604) 853-0757.

Gordon, I saw your wife's name in the obituaries of the Province Newspaper, and a flood of memories came back. I'm not sure if you'd even remember me, but for a year or so, I used to babysit your five, then six children a few times a month when you lived in South Burnaby. I would come over after school and stay until midnight while you took your lovely wife out on "date night". I thought that was so romantic, and years later when I married, I told my husband I also wanted "date night". Your children were all so dear and happy, helping this 14-year-old cope with three kids in diapers, getting them all fed and bathed and into bed. I asked your wife how she was able to cope with six children every day, and she said it was easy, she just loved them. We would chat while she got ready, and I loved seeing the look on her face when you came home. What a beautiful woman, My thanks to you both for letting me share that sliver of time in your lives. God bless you and your sons and daughters.

Gordon, I saw the obituary of your wife on the web. Our condolences go out to you. We first met at 10th Avenue Alliance Church in 1958. 1 Corinthians 15 - you said good-bye here but you will see your wife again.

Dear Mom, you are missed. I can't imagine the years without you. Your life touched so many people over the many years you were on this earth. Your beauty, love, kindness, giving, loyalty, consistent & dependable best friend, faithful, caring, integrity, perseverance, honest, understanding, nonjudgemental, accepting, great sense of humour, listening ear and so much more that I could share. You're in almost all of our memories of times shared together. There was nothing I couldn't say to you, you were so easy to talk to. I love you and miss you beyond words. All our love always, Lisa & David xoxo

Dear Mom, you will be missed by so many here on earth, but we know you are having many laughs up in heaven with Vanessa. Our prayers, family, friends are being very supportive since your sudden passing Friday eve, and this is helping the family immensely. I have already visited your favorite Starbucks downstairs by our place downtown, and will be ordering an Americano each time in honor of you. Anita and I, the kids, and Lulu, Basil and Bella the cats all miss you a lot already. You were such an amazing Mother to our whole family. We have so many great memories of your love and laughter and smiles to sustain us. Keep well and see you again in heaven. Xoxoxo we love you dearly, and we will take care of dad !
